Tunde Harry Williams Jr

Tunde Harry Williams, Jr. was born in Nigeria in 1982. Shortly thereafter, his parents moved to Houston, Texas with the dream of providing a better life for their family to come, which would include four more children.

Entering high school at 6'2", Williams was enrolled in a skill-development program founded by his godmother, giving him the opportunity to train with former College All-American, NBA star, and head coach John Lucas. This training, along with highly competitive play in the AAU circuit led to Williams being awarded regional basketball honors in a region that has produced top professional athletes, many of which Williams faced in his high school career.

Williams went on to compete in college at the Division I level, receiving a full scholarship from Liberty University, where as a captain, he assisted in leading his team to a Big South Championship. In his final year of eligibility, Williams promising basketball career was cut short due to a vascular necrosis of the hip. With a professional basketball career no longer an option, Williams was forced to focus on his education. He graduated with a degree in Business Management, leading to a successful career in the financial industry.

At age 22, a tragic family event led Williams to take custody of his younger brother. Moving his brother from Texas to Virginia to complete his final three years of high school, Williams used this time to mentor his brother spiritually, academically and athletically. His brother received state basketball accolades and recognition, and later a full athletic college scholarship.

In 2009, Williams began developing a plan to continue his godmother's vision of granting young athletes a platform to showcase their athletic skills for an opportunity to further their education. This is the foundation on which Team Genesis International was founded.
